Seattle Children’s Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic (OBCC) was founded in the spirit of advocacy, health equity, and community connection and is grounded in Odessa Brown’s desire to bring quality healthcare with dignity to children in Seattle’s Central District.
OBCC’s previous Central District location was permanently closed in 2022 and a decision was made to find a new Central District location to better meet the needs of Seattle Children’s and the community . Spectrum assisted Seattle Children’s identify a number of potential locations and ultimately helped negotiate a new long term lease at the selected location. The construction planning and design work for OBCC’s new location at 18th Ave. S. and S. Jackson in Seattle’s Central District neighborhood is moving through the permitting process toward completion. Construction will occur in two phases and will begin in late calendar year 2024. The first phase of construction is slated to be completed in summer 2025 and the clinic will open to serve patients and families with the following services: mental health and behavioral health, violence and injury prevention support and addiction related resources, as well as primary care. Phase 2 construction is slated to be completed in early calendar year 2026, with a focus on creating more capacity to serve patients and families with primary care needs, both acute and well child.
